Emmanuel Malpot

Research Engineer

Bio sketch

Established in New Zealand since 2008 with his family, Emmanuel brings a blend of marine science background, seafaring experience, networking ability and enthusiasm to the project. An engineer in marine aquaculture with 20 years of experience in the Indo-pacific region, Emmanuel has a wide-ranging knowledge of the aquaculture sector stretching from farm management, R&D, government organization and consulting activities. As an aquaculturist, he is obviously no stranger to planktonic forms of life that constitute the base of the aquatic food chain. Emmanuel’s passion for the sea also leads him to spend most of his recreational time on or under the water. A keen sailor, he has embarked in many coastal and offshore passages. His primary role with Plankton Planet is to coordinate the project’s activities in the South-West Pacific region, together with Xavier Pochon.
