Nils Haentjens

Bio sketch

I’m currently enrolled in a graduate degree in marine science at Univeristy of Maine. I spent the last five months of 2014 working on Tara, a boat that caries scientific research all over the globe, as a deck engineer and a scientific assistant. I’ve always been fond of the ocean. I started sailing at a young age and in recent years I’ve been lucky enough to race at a high level in France. My aim is to use my engineerging background, in embedded systems, in the oceanography area and more specifically in the study of the optical properties of the oceans. I am interested in data quality assessment for optical measurement like backscatter, fluorometer, radiometer and remote sensing reflectance.
